At Atlético de Madrid, we are firmly committed to integrity, transparency, and regulatory compliance as essential pillars of our organizational culture. We believe that long-term sustainability is only possible when a strong ethical culture is promoted, risks are actively managed, and actions are taken responsibly, in accordance with best practices in the sector and applicable regulations.
As a concrete demonstration of this commitment, the club has obtained, for the first time, the UNE 19601:2017 certification, which certifies the effectiveness of our Criminal Compliance Management System in accordance with the highest national and international standards. This recognition, awarded by Bureau Veritas, strengthens our prevention and control model and positions the club as an organization aligned with the principles of ethics, legality, and continuous improvement.
To ensure effective implementation of the system, the club has appointed a Compliance Officer —an internal, independent, and autonomous body that reports directly to the Board of Directors. The Compliance Officer's primary role is to oversee the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the club’s Compliance Management System, which is designed to prevent potential irregularities, especially those that could result in criminal liability for the organization.
The system establishes controls, policies, and preventive measures that enable the club to operate ethically, responsibly, and in alignment with both applicable legislation and the voluntary commitments it has undertaken. Additionally, the Compliance Officer is responsible for managing the Internal Reporting System (the club’s ethics channel) and handling investigation proceedings, thus ensuring a safe, confidential, and transparent environment for all individuals involved in the organization.
