This Saturday, Atlético de Madrid begins the phase of pre-season friendly matches against Numancia in the IV Jesús Gil y Gil Memorial. The match will be played at the Municipal Sports Field of El Burgo de Osma (Soria) at 19:00. 

After two weeks of work in Los Ángeles de San Rafael, Simeone’s team will play its first friendly against the team from Soria.  

It will be the fourth edition of the Jesús Gil y Gil Memorial. In the previous three, our team beat the team of the League 2, managed by Jagoba Arrasate. Last season, the red and whites won 0-2 with goals from Lucas and Correa in the first minutes of the second half. 

Our team will face a squad that has players who wore the red and white shirt such as Francisco Regalón and Manu del Moral, who joins the team from Numancia this season. 

Numancia ended LaLiga 2 last season in tenth place on the table, 18 points from the champion, Deportivo Alavés. In this summer market, they have been reinforced with Eneko Chapel, Carlos Gutiérrez, Iñigo Ruíz de Galarreta, Alberto Escassi, Aitor Fernández, Carlos Javier Acuña, Jairo Morillas and Manu del Moral.

For the Castilian-Leonese team, it will also be the first friendly of the pre-season.
