Warm welcome for the team in Baku
The Atletico Madrid travelling party landed in the capital of Azerbaijan after a five hours flight and starts two day visit to the country whose name graces the red and white shirt.
After a five and a half hour flight, the Atletico Madrid travelling party, led by Enrique Cerezo, president of the organization, and Miguel Angel Gil Marin, CEO, landed at the international airport in Baku, capital of Azerbaijan, and was received by about one hundred local fans, given a warm welcome, especially the Turkish midfielder Arda Turan, a star in these lands due to the proximity and ties between the country and Turkey.
Managers, coaches and the 20 players who make up the first team along with Saul Ñíguez, Óliver Torres and the youth Samuel Villa will spend two-day in the country whose name adorns the Atletico Madrid shirts. During their stay, they’ll take part in a complete schedule of institutional, sports and promotional events ending on Tuesday with a match between Azeri All-star team. The match will be played 20.00hours local time (17.00 CET Spanish time) - in the Tofig Bakhramov Republican Stadium in Baku.
At ten o'clock on Tuesday, three hours less on the peninsula, the day starts with a visit to the landmarks of the city. After lunch, Diego Pablo Simeone and Arda Turan will offer a press conference followed some signing of autographs and photos with youth players from FK Baku.
At half past six in the evening, the first team will begin a training session which will last for about an hour and a quarter, and the day will end with a gala dinner that will be attended by the entourage of the club.
