TO HOST OUR MATCHES AGAINST PSG AND BOTAFOGO

The Rose Bowl: a century-old Los Angeles stadium steeped in football history

This iconic venue, inaugurated in 1922, has played host to the final of the men’s football tournament at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, the men’s and women’s FIFA World Cup finals in 1994 and 1999 respectively, and the CONCACAF Gold Cup finals in 2002 and 2011.

Located in the city of Pasadena (Los Angeles, California), the Rose Bowl is arguably the most historic football venue among those selected to host matches at this year’s FIFA Club World Cup. It will be the stage where we begin and end our group stage campaign, taking on PSG and Botafogo on Sunday 25 and Monday 23 June respectively, with both matches kicking off at 21:00 CEST.

With a capacity of 88,500 and opened in 1922, it has been home to the UCLA Bruins college football team since 1982, and has hosted the Super Bowl on five occasions. However, its “soccer” pedigree is just as impressive: the Rose Bowl hosted the final of the 1984 Olympic football tournament, the men’s and women’s FIFA World Cup finals in 1994 and 1999, and the CONCACAF Gold Cup finals in 2002 and 2011.

A designated National Historic Landmark, the Rose Bowl will host six group stage matches at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. Over a century ago, it was built at a cost of $272,198, based on designs by architect Myron Hunt.
