FOLLOWING THE LALIGA FINALE AGAINST LEVANTE

Simeone: “Young and motivated players are coming through and that excites us greatly”

Our coach, Camello and Koke shared their thoughts after Saturday’s game at the Ciutat de Valencia.

Simeone praised his players’ character, while claiming that he was excited about our young players, after Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Levante.

“In the first half, Levante perhaps were a bit more focused and took advantage of their set pieces and breaks. In the second half, despite Correa’s red card, the team answered as warriors, gladiators, people with pride. Young and motivated players are coming through and that excites us greatly,” the Argentine said.

Our coach also praised our departing players.

"We're very proud of the players that are leaving the club. The most important thing is their commitment and respect, not the titles. I love them," Simeone said.

Camello was very happy after the game, in which he made his debut and scored the equaliser.

“I try to help the team and today and did just that. I’m deeply moved. I can score goals and I proved that today. I would like to become a legend at this club, like any kid, especially Atleti fans. I’m very happy,” the 18-year-old said.

Koke claimed to be excited about next season.

“We always reinvent ourselves. I hope we can do so, and I hope that the players who arrive can adapt as fast as possible. I’m very excited about next season. Important players are leaving and we have to thank them because they’ve been a part of an incredible Atlético de Madrid side,” our midfielder said.
