Aiming for another win in LaLiga
Atlético de Madrid welcome Mallorca to the Riyadh Air Metropolitano on Saturday (18:30 CET) with the goal of winning another match in LaLiga EA Sports.
After the dominant 1-4 win in Austria against RB Salzburg, and with the subsequent direct qualification to the Champions League Round of 16 secured, Mallorca visit us to resume the LaLiga campaign. Atlético come into the game in high spirits following a game in which goals from Griezmann (2), Giuliano and Llorente secured the win over RB Salzburg, who could only score a consolation goal in the final minutes. The team showed the necessary strength to achieve its objective, which was to qualify for the Round of 16, to allow for a small break in the Champions League to focus on our exploits in LaLiga and Copa del Rey.
Mallorca come into the game following two defeats in their last two games, 4-0 against Villarreal and 0-1 against Betis at home, making them a more dangerous opponent as they aim to maintain their spot in the Europa League places. However, Jagoba Arrasate’s side have won two of their last five matches, with notable wins against Getafe (0-1) and then against Girona (2-1).
Diego Pablo Simeone’s side will aim to continue their positive run at home, where they have only drawn three matches against Espanyol, Real Madrid and Villarreal, winning the rest of their home games. The objective is to win and to stay near the top of the table before facing Getafe in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals next Tuesday, February 4, also at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.
