Pedro Palmero: 77 years of Atlético passion
87-year-old Pedro Palmero has been a club member for 77 years and has seen us play in four stadiums.
Pedro Palmero is 87 years old and it’s safe to say he’s Atlético for life. Our club member #1 chatted with us about all the moments he’s lived as an Atlético fan. All in all, he's seen our team play in four stadiums as the home team: Vallecas, Stadium Metropolitano, Vicente Calderón and Wanda Metropolitano
“The first time I saw Atlético play was in the 1939/40 season. I was about 10 years old,” Palmero said.
When asked about the move to our new stadium last season, he wasn’t hesitant to share his opinion.
“It’s marvelous.
Over the years, he’s seen several players defend our red and white shirt. But there’s one that particularly sticks out to Palmero.
“I’ve seen many great players play for our club,” he said. “Futre was just incredible.”
Enjoying watching great players wasn’t his only pastime, he also loved watching our team win trophies.
“I saw us win two Copas del Generalísimo at the Bernabéu,” he continued. “That made me very happy.
