Partnership deal with Google Cloud Security for cybersecurity and innovation in women's football
Google Cloud Security is now our new cybersecurity sponsor for Atlético de Madrid Women's team.
Today, we are pleased to announce Atlético de Madrid women team's partnership with Google Cloud Security with the joint aim of exploring innovative ways to improve training, performance analysis, fan engagement, and the club's overall cybersecurity posture.
Raising the cybersecurity game at Atlético de Madrid
Through today’s agreement, announced on stage at Google Cloud Summit in Madrid, together we’re committing to:
- Carrying out seminars and practical workshops on Google Cloud Security solutions with Google experts that will allow Atlético to learn some of the practices to take into account to improve data protection of the institution, strategic partners, and fans.
- Rolling out personalized consultations to address the specific technology needs of Atlético.
- Exploring how Atlético de Madrid can use other Google Cloud services and products that may be beneficial for the club.
Driving innovation with artificial intelligence
Beyond cybersecurity, Google Cloud and Atlético de Madrid will also work together to harness the power of Google’s artificial intelligence (AI) tools, such as the Vertex AI platform and Gemini models, to explore areas including:
- Performance analysis: AI will be used to analyze player performance in real time, allowing the coaching staff to make more informed decisions and optimize game strategies.
- Fan experience: Google Cloud and Atlético de Madrid will look to develop new immersive experiences for fans using technologies such as augmented reality and virtual reality.
- Operating securely: Google Cloud will be used to proactively protect the company's confidential data and systems.
“This collaboration will allow us to combine our passion and commitment to innovation with Google Cloud’s experience in cybersecurity and cloud solutions. For us it will mean a quantitative and qualitative leap in the way we store and secure all the data related to the physical activity, health and education of all our players in the Academy".
“The ability that Google Cloud gives us to store and process all this data generated is extraordinary, but even more so is the confidence that comes from being protected by the latest cybersecurity tools provided by Google Cloud Security".
“We hope to accelerate the processes of our Player_ID project, using all the capabilities and insights provided by the AI tools within the Google Cloud platform. We look forward to seeing what we can achieve as a combined team,” said Óscar Mayo, Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Atlético de Madrid.
