Targeting top spot at home to FC Barcelona
FC Barcelona visit the Riyadh Air Metropolitano this Sunday at 21:00 CET for Matchday 12 of LaLiga. Simeone's side will be looking to secure an eighth consecutive league victory and move to the top of the table.
This Sunday, we return home alongside our supporters. Following last week's three points away to Levante in Valencia, we face Barcelona at 21:00 CET with the aim of provisionally taking top spot in LaLiga.
Last season, we faced the Catalan side in every competition, knocking them out in the Champions League quarter-finals and the Copa del Rey semi-finals. However, in the league meeting at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, our team suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat. Giuliano scored our goal on that occasion.
Barcelona come into the game off the back of beating Deportivo Alavés 6-1 at home in LaLiga and securing a 3-0 Champions League victory over Aston Villa. They currently lead the league table with 30 points.
Our team head into the fixture on an excellent run of form in LaLiga, having won our last seven matches in the competition, and are determined to extend that streak. In our most recent game against Levante, Grimaldo, who is enjoying a fine run of form, opened the scoring. Giuliano then sealed the victory with the second goal in a 2-0 win. That result took this season’s points tally to 28.
