Mario and Courtois also trained outside the group
Diego Pablo Simeone took five youth player to work with his team. Diego Costa, Mario and Courtois worked on their own under the watchful supervision of various members of the coaching staff.
Atletico Madrid trained on Friday at the Majadahonda Sports two days before their match against FC Barcelona at the Vicente Calderon. The session was divided into two parts starting in the gym for half an hour. Afterwards, members of the first team, along with Bono, Manquillo, Óliver and Saul (Atlético B) and Dani Marquez (Atlético C) took to the field to work for another forty minutes.
The group then played a game, the green team was made up of Cristian Rodriguez, Koke, Miranda, Pulido, Adrian, Arda, Filipe, Tiago, Óliver and Manquillo while in red were Juanfran, Cisma, Marquez, Cata, Gabi, Godin, Saul, Insua, Raul Garcia and Falcao. Asenjo and Bono worked with goalkeeping coach Pablo Vercellone while Diego Costa worked with Oscar Ortega performing a specific power base session.
Mario and Courtois did not come out on to the pitch in Majadahonda and the midfielder is recovering from back pain, and Courtois has a slight overload. Both were in the gym with Oscar Pitillas preparing to be in good shape for the season’s finale.
