Filipe: "We will continue fighting for second place"
The full back sent a positive message ensuring that the team is looking ahead and will continue striving to achieve their objectives.
Filipe Luis appeared before the media after the game and was positive and looking forward to the exciting future that if coming up for Atletico. "We’ve no choice but to think about the next game and end the season in the best way possible. We want the second place and although we are further away, we will work hard to achieve it. You have to be positive and look forward," he said.
Despite the big atmosphere, Atletico could not put the icing on the cake by picking up the three points. "We were very excited because we were playing at home. It is only our second defeat in the league. We wanted to win and give the victory to our fans. In the end it wasn’t to be against a very strong team but we have to keep working and fighting. We have a great squad to pull this off," said the full back.
Atletico and Real Madrid will meet again in the cup final, a final that excites everyone at Atletico."All I think about is winning the ball from my opponent and joining the attack. We have a very good chance as it is a final. It's a completely different game to everyone else. It's a very nice opportunity and hopefully we can pull it off," said the Brazil international.
But before that, members of the first team of Atletico are focussed on ending the season on an high in the league. "We have league matches in¡¡to play first. The Cup Final is a nice touch and we will prepare for that too. It is another story and now we will think about the next league match," he said.
