Atletico started preparing for the game against Barcelona
Diego Pablo Simeone carried out a session on Thursday at the Sports City with the squad divided into two groups. Those who started in Vigo worked in the gym and then also did some light work on the pitch. And the rest, along with seven youngsters, worked for an hour and a half on the grass.
The first working group began at 10:30 am on field 4 of the Sports City. Insua, Tiago, Arda Turan, Cristian Rodriguez, Cata Diaz, Schism, Raul Garcia Asenjo and Pulido worked with the three usual youths Óliver, Saul and Manquillo. They were also joined by four other players from Atletico B: Bono, Thomas, Tiri and Kader.
To start with they conducted an exercise of touch and ball control, and then moved on to do some physical work. After they did a drill which involved controlling and shooting at goal with an attacker and two defenders. They then worked in a reduced space game of four versus four. Finally, they ended with a game on half of the field, eight against eight. The green team was: Asenjo, Cata Diaz, Cristian Rodriguez, Tiri, Saul, Kader, Insua and Raul Garcia. And red: Bono, Schism, Arda Turan, Manquillo, Óliver, Tiago, Thomas and Pulido.
After an hour and a half of work, the players who started against Celta had regenerative session, with work in the gym and then some light work on the pitch.
