Atletico Madrid land José María Giménez
The Uruguayan central defender has signed his contract with Atletico after an agreement was reached with Danube Football Club from the Uruguayan League.
Atletico Madrid has reached an agreement with Danube Football Club, from the Uruguayan League first division for the transfer of defender José María Giménez to Atletico Madrid. The young footballer, born in Toledo (Uruguay) on January 20, 1995, has passed a medical this morning in the capital of Spain before signing his contract with Atletico de Madrid for the next five seasons. He is a central defender who, despite only being 18 years old, has been called up to the Uruguayan under 20’s team.
Jose Luis Perez Caminero, Direcor of Football of Atletico Madrid, defined Giménez as a "natural talent, a fast defender who uses the ball well, he a good marker and classy on the ball."
After signing the contract, the central defender took a flight back to join the Uruguayan Under 20’s.
