Atlético de Madrid holds Gold, Gold & Diamond badge ceremony
Our club on Saturday held a ceremony in which we paid tribute to our club members of 50 and 65 years.
Atlético de Madrid held an emotional ceremony at the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday in which club members of 50 years were presented with a Gold badge and club members of 65 years received a Gold & Diamond insignia.
The ceremony took place at our stadium's Auditorium ahead of the match against Getafe. Club President Enrique Cerezo presented our club members with their badges. Atleti legends Tomás, Reñones, Iselín Santo Ovejero, Jorge Mendonça, José Eulogio Gárate, Cacho Heredia, Luiz Pereira, Roberto Solozábal, Marcelino Pérez Ayllón and Adelardo Rodríguez also attended the event and thanked our fans for their magnificent support.
Enrique Cerezo highlighted the importance of our club members in the club's success.
"We're currently enjoying one of the most glorious phases of Atlético de Madrid's history. And I can tell you without any doubts, that all our recent successes have also been thanks to you, because your unconditional support this wouldn't have been possible. Thousands of people like yo have played their part in making this club different and unique," our President said.
Atleti club member number 1 Pedro Palmero, who received his first membership club almost 80 years ago, also spoke at the ceremony.
"I told our legends that they made me enjoy many great moments," Palmero said, while asking the crowd: "Is there anything better than being an Atleti fan?"
