OPENED IN THE 2005-06 SEASON, IT SEATS 68,000 SPECTATORS

Allianz Arena, the crown jewel of the Bavarians

For the 2006 World Cup, played in Germany, the old Munich Olympic gave way to the modern Allianz Arena, a stadium that is the pride of the Bavarian team.

The current ‘home’ of Bayern Munich has a recent past, since they went from the old Olympic to the modern and luxurious Allianz Arena. For international matches, both for the national team and for European club competitions, the capacity of this crown jewel of the Bavarians seats to 68,000 spectators, while for national competitions matches it increases to 71,000.

One of the most striking features of this stadium is the outside, translucent and that changes colour depending on the team playing at home, since it is shared with TSV 1860 Munich, the other team of the city. When Bayern plays at home, the lights are red, while if it is 1860 they are blue. And if the national team plays its matches there, the colour turns white.
