Atlético de Madrid will face Marbella FC in the Round of 32 of the Copa del Rey, as determined by the draw held on Monday at the RFEF headquarters in Ciudad del Fútbol, Las Rozas. The match will be played as a single-leg tie on Jan. 4 at 9:30pm CET.
Marbella FC compete in Group 2 of the Primera RFEF, the same division as Atlético Madrid B. Notably, just two matchdays ago, Marbella visited the Centro Deportivo Majadahonda for a league clash, in which Fernando Torres' side emerged victorious in a 3-2 win.
In the previous round, Marbella FC knocked out Burgos CF (1-0) in Málaga. In the first round, they defeated Galicia side Bergantiños (2-1) away from home.
Our team overcame Unió Esportiva Vic in the first round with a 2-0 victory thanks to a Julián Álvarez brace. In the second round, Atlético defeated CP Cacereño at the Príncipe Felipe Stadium in Cáceres, coming from behind to win 3-1 after the Extremadura-based side had taken an early lead in the first half. Lenglet equalised before goals from De Paul and Álvarez rounded off the win. Álvarez is currently Atlético’s top scorer in the Copa del Rey with three goals.
