We join Fundación Querer for the 2019 Solidarity Calendar to support children with neurological diseases
The Atlético de Madrid Foundation has collaborated with the Fundación Querer in this solidarity initiative, the earnings of which will be used to help children with special needs derived from their neurological diseases. The calendar will be available from Saturday at our Madrid stores.
The Atlético de Madrid Foundation and Fundación Querer presented the 2019 Solidarity Calendar at the Wanda Metropolitano Auditorium on Wednesday. The earnings from the calendar will be used to help children with special needs derived from their neurological diseases. Club President Enrique Cerezo, Fundación Querer President Pilar García de la Granja and Atlético de Madrid Foundation President Adelardo Rodríguez attended the event.
Enrique Cerezo highlighted the importance of the work our foundation and Fundación Querer do.
"Our commitment with people and society becomes a reality with the projects, activities and programs that our Foundation organizes and participates in. The Solidarity Calendar is one of them and it gives Diego Pablo Simeone and our players the chance to participate and get to know the work that the foundations with which we collaborate do. In the last few weeks, our players have been able to witness Fundación Querer's wonderful facilities, in which we have launched a therapeutical football pioneering project for the foundation's kids, and also an inclusion project for neurotypical kids through football," our President said.
Pilar García de la Granja thanks the Atlético de Madrid Foundation for its involvement in the project.
"We have established the Fundación Querer in a year, we have opened a pioneering school in Spain for kids with language disorders. Almost 80% of kids with neurological diseases have language disorders. Fundación Querer's obsession has always been to search and develop the tools to educate these kids, as well as training professors and professionals that can go to any part of Spain. Football isn't just a wonderful tool to integrate people from different backgrounds, it's also an esential tool for leg, arm and eye coordination. It also helps us to educate children, and thanks to Atlético de Madrid we have imlpemented this therapeutical football project that will help many kids," the Fundación Querer President said.
The calendar includes photographs of our players with students from the 'Cole de Celia y Pepe,' a school promoted by Fundación Querer in which neurology, the latest tools for special education and the scientific and academic communities have teamed up to service the children's education.
The 2019 Solidarity Calendar goes on sale on Saturday, Dec. 15 at our Madrid stores, and it only costs 5 euros.
