We host Villarreal on Fan Club Celebration Day
The Rojiblancos take on the Castellón-based outfit at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano at 21:00 CEST this Saturday, the same day we celebrate the Fan Club Celebration Day.
Our second home fixture of the campaign sees us take on Villarreal this Saturday evening, as we go in search of our first league win of the season.
Simeone’s men go into the encounter following a draw with Alavés just before the international break. Giuliano Simeone got the goal for Atleti at the Mendizorroza. It was a repeat result of our 1-1 draw on opening day against Elche at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano – Sørloth with the goal that day.
Similarly, Villarreal also drew last time out. Marcelino’s side took a point against Celta at home, with Pépé the goalscorer. However, thanks to a pair of wins prior to that game, the men in yellow have six points to their name and currently sit in third place.
Looking back, last season’s meeting with Villarreal at home ended in a 1-1 draw, with Lino and Gerard Moreno scoring the goals.
