We’ve equalled our best LaLiga start from the last 13 seasons
With 25 points at this point, Simeone’s men have equalled their best tally since the 2014/15 campaign.
Atleti have equalled their best league start of the past 13 seasons. Since 2014/25, the Rojiblancos have only managed to collect 25 points from their first ten league games once. It was in 2023/24, when we began the season with eight wins, a draw, and a defeat, scoring 24 goals and concinding just eight. This start had us in first place in the table at that point of that season.
Simeone’s men have equalled that feat this season. Like back then, we currently sit on 25 points after eight wins, a draw, and a defeat. This season too, we have conceded eight, but we have scored 20.
Our great start is thanks largely to a run of six straight league wins and the team’s defensive solidity. Jan Oblak has kept a clean sheet in half of our matches to date (five, including in our two most recent outings, against Espanyol and Deportivo).
Fun fact: we have one point more than we did at this stage in 20/21, when we won our most recent league title.
