Fernando Torres answered the media in the presentation of the second match our club will play in Australia. Atlético’s striker said: “We approach every game with the aim to win, for us, it’s the most important thing, to win the games because we really think that winning is similar to training so we can train winning and this is how we approach this tournament. We had a very difficult first twenty minutes, after that we got closer than we would expecting for ourselves, and just keep going. It’s only the second game we play this pre-season, so the legs are still on their way to work, but we take the game against Melbourne Victory very seriously."

Regarding the possible team Simeone starts with tomorrow, he said: “It depends on the manger, we always want to play. All the players always want to play all the minutes, but I don’t know what’s going to happen. We didn’t talk about that yet but hopefully we can have some minutes and play in Geelong against Melbourne Victory and it will be a nice test for us.

About the rival, Melbourne Victory, he noted: “We saw the draw they played against Juventus so I’m sure for them it’s quite a big game, to play against three of the top teams in Europe and they take it very seriously and we have to approach the same in the same way. We want to get a good result.

The Spanish international spoke about the progression of football in Australia: “It’s getting better and I think football around the world is getting better in all the continents, football is getting bigger and the fans want to watch football more and more and hopefully we can help in a certain way to develop football in Australia.

Regarding the possibility of playing in the Australian A League some day, the striker commented: “My target is to play many more years in Atlético and hopefully I can finish my career there at the highest level, but you never know what will happen. I have one more year here and my idea is to play one more season, score many goals, win trophies and sign a new contract again, so to be honest, I don't want to think in the future further than 1 year. I’m 32, I feel strong and I feel have more years to play at the highest level, hopefully in this club which is the club I want to play in,” he said.

He also noted the support of the fans: “It’s been great, always, always… When I go with any of the teams out of my country, it’s great to feel very welcome, I feel the love of all the fans and hopefully we can give them some good matches on the pitch and make them feel proud of the team.
