Theo Hernández renews until 2021
Atlético’s player from the ranks will seek to continue his training in the Basque team, newly promoted to LaLiga Santander.
Theo Hernández has extended his contract with our club until 30th June, 2021. The young 18-year-old left-back has done the pre-season with the first team, travelling to Australia for the tour that we did in Melbourne and Geelong.
The French defender came to the Academy in 2008, joining Juvenile A, and moved up the categories to become part of the reserve team last season. His performance was very important in the last two editions of the UEFA Youth League and was one of the key players in the winning of the 2015-16 youth League and King’s Cup. Last year, he also played with the first team, being called to play a League game against Eibar.
In order to maintain that excellent progression and seeking to have the playing minutes necessary for his growth in football, Atlético de Madrid and Alavés have reached an agreement for Theo Hernández to play loaned in the Basque team until 30th June, 2017.
The club wishes him the best of luck in this new stage with Alavés.
