The FIFA Club World Cup trophy has arrived at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano!
Following its arrival at our stadium, it will visit the Alcalá de Henares Sports Centre, tour the streets of Madrid, and be displayed at our store on Gran Vía.
This Wednesday 22 January and Thursday 23 January, we will welcome the FIFA Club World Cup trophy, a tournament we will participate in this summer in the United States. During the group stage, we will face PSG, Botafogo, and Seattle Sounders.
After departing New York and making its first stop in Lisbon, the Riyadh Air Metropolitano is the second stop on the trophy’s journey over the coming weeks, during which it will visit the home of each of the 32 clubs competing in the tournament.
After its visit to our pitch on Wednesday afternoon, the trophy will head to the Alcalá de Henares Sports Centre, where it will be welcomed by 300 children of various ages from our Academy. These young players will have the chance to admire a trophy that will further inspire their dreams of becoming professional footballers. While they may have previously only aspired to become world champions with their national teams, the FIFA Club World Cup now allows them to dream of achieving such glory while representing the club they love.
Later, the trophy will tour key locations tied to the history of both the city and our club—such as El Retiro Park, Puerta de Alcalá, and Vicente Calderón Park—travelling in a glass-panelled van, so that the world can experience Madrid through the eyes of a Red and White fan.
Furthermore, on Thursday, all fans will have the opportunity to see the trophy up close and take photos with it at our official store located at Gran Vía 47, where it will be on display from 17:30 CET. Don’t miss it!
