The Women's Champions League is back!
Pablo López’s team travels to England to face Manchester City in the European competition’s last 16.
Atlético de Madrid Femenino gear up to face Manchester City in the first leg of the Women's Champions League last 16. The game is to be played on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 8 pm CET.
Our team earned a win at Levante in the last match, which was also the debut of new coach Pablo López. Ludmila was the goalscorer on the day.
It’s the third consecutive year that Atleti Femenino play the European competition’s round of 16, and they will do so thanks to the 4-3 aggregate win against Spartak Subotica. Wednesday’s match will be the second time that our women’s team play at Manchester’s Academy Stadium, following our 2-0 away win on Sep. 26, 2018, when Meseguer and Ludmila’s goals secured us a 3-1 aggregate win.
In front will be a very tough side, who beat Birmingham 3-0 in their last match and have earned five straight wins. In the previous round of the Women's Champions League, Manchester City beat Lugano 11-1 on aggregate.
