The grand final of the Carranza Trophy did not disappoint the fans. Betis was daunted in the face of the domain and the chances of our team in a thrilling match. The occasions, like in the semi-final against Cádiz, were for the red and whites. Koke was the first to unsettle Adam with a direct foul that was solved by the goalkeeper of Betis. Betis had its best chance in a header from Xavi Torres to which Oblak responded with a prodigious hand to deflect to the corner.

In the second half came the best opportunities, along with a more fluid game. Not only the domain of our team, as in the first half, but the goal was closer because Atlético lived more permanently in the box of Betis. That is how Griezmann crashed a cross-shot on 57 minutes on the crossbar. Correa, who came out charged, giving more liveliness to the attack, and shot grazing the post. And, on the third clear chance of the second half, came the goal. A corner that reaches Óliver Torres and the precise cross of the player from Extremadura is sent next to the pole by Giménez with an accurate header.

In the final stretch, Jackson Martinez premiered as a striker with the red and white shirt as Correa did. The two rounded the scoring at the end of a Carranza trophy which once again comes to our Stadium’s cabinets. A landslide to finish the pre-season, since next week the team begins the League against Las Palmas at the Vicente Calderón.
