José Chércoles leaves us at 88 years of age. Goalkeeper who was part of the squad that played the 1956 Cup final against Athletic Club.
Atlético de Madrid is mourning the loss of José Chércoles, who has left us at the age of 88.
The goalkeeper played two seasons as a Red &White goalkeeper between 1955 and 1957 under the direction of our former coach Antonio Barrios and coinciding with goalkeepers Manuel Pazos and Luis Menéndez. He was also part of the squad that played the 1956 Cup final against Athletic Club.
In his memory, the flag in honor of our fans at the Cívitas Metropolitano flies at half mast.
