Our first team started the pre-season on Thursday, 7th July, at the Wanda Atlético de Madrid Training Complex in Majadahonda. After the first training sessions, the players travelled on Sunday, 10th July, to Los Ángeles de San Rafael, where the traditional and demanding stage in the Castilian urbanization began. Throughout the following two weeks, the players worked double and triple sessions to prepare for the hard competition. On Saturday 23rd, we ended the concentration with the fourth edition of the Jesús Gil y Gil Memorial in El Burgo de Osma, where we beat CD Numancia by 0-2. 

The second pre-season match took place in Melbourne in the International Champions Cup against Tottenham, which ended with a win thanks to a goal from Diego Godín. The second test in Australia ended with a narrow defeat against Melbourne Victory (1-0).

After the Australian tour, our team will return to Madrid to continue the pre-season in the Wanda Atlético de Madrid Training Complex. On 6th August, at 21:30 local time (20:30 CET), we will play a friendly game at Istanbul’s Türk Telekom against Galatasaray. After this match, the team will continue with their preparation in Madrid before travelling to Cádiz to play the last two preparation matches in the Ramón de Carranza Trophy. Our first rival will be the home team at 18:30 on 12th August and the second match will be played on the 13th. Once the prestigious tournament in Cádiz is over, the team will stay in Majadahonda to put the finishing touches before debuting in the 2016-17 LaLiga.
