The League champion gets going
Diego Pablo Simeone started work with 24 players at the start of the training sessions in the Sports City. The first session lasted two and a half hours.
Atlético de Madrid went back to work to prepare for the 2014-2015 season. Diego Pablo Simeone had a total of 24 players under his command, eight of them home-grown, on the first working day of the pre-season. The international players were missing, and they will join the team later on.
The group of players was formed by Moyá, Bono, Arda Turan, Adrián, Gabi, Raúl García, Guilavogui, Saul, Manquillo, Thomas, Siqueira, Insua, Mario Suárez, Leo Baptistão, Miranda and Filipe Luis. The home-grown players are Lucas, Borja Martínez, Nacho Monsalve, Xu Xin, Carlos Ramos, Iván Alejo, Samuel and Héctor.
The group began working in the gym for an hour and 20 minutes, to then take the field under Óscar Ortega and Carlos Menéndez’s orders. Forty-five minutes later, the team started to touch the ball, made circle drills and ended with physical work.
