AN INITIATIVE OF THE ATLETI FOUNDATION

Stand up for yourself against bullying

On the occasion of the celebration, May 2nd, the International Day Against Bullying, we are launching two spots signed by Ms. Rushmore. Bullying is a problem that generates 200.000 suicides every year worldwide. The campaign is part of a project led by the club's Foundation, which will include awareness-raising talks in collaboration with schools during the coming season.

Bullying causes more than 200.000 suicides each year worldwide among young people aged 14 to 28*. To give visibility to this huge problem that affects, in one way or another, 24 million children just in Europe, the Atleti Foundation is launching two spots signed by Ms. Rushmore to coincide with the upcoming celebration, on 2 May, the International Day Against Bullying.

The campaign serves as a starting point for a new project of the Atleti Foundation in which it will collaborate with schools in the Community of Madrid to give talks by specialised professionals, with the aim of raising awareness of this problem. The players of the first team will collaborate with this initiative. In addition, the Academy teams will be the first to receive this training.

Spain is one of the European countries most affected by the scourge of bullying, behind only the United Kingdom, Russia and Ireland. According to data from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, children between the ages of 12 and 14 are the most likely to be bullied at school. A situation that often translates into physical aggression and psychological harassment, also through social networks.
