Atlético de Madrid went from less to more in the first half against Celta. With a field that was fast due to the copious amount of water raining in Vigo in the last hours, the game began at a frenetic rhythm, with two teams that never let up. However, while Celta had to try to surprise Oblak from afar, like Orellana on 38 minutes, our team were close to Sergio’s goal, although the best chance was at Griezmann’s feet, who drove a ball over the crossbar after a beautiful wall with Koke.
The second half could not have started better for our players. Griezmann began a play with a pass to Vietto and the Argentinian handed on a plate the first goal of the match to the Frenchman. The match got to where Atlético wanted and gradually, our squad played in Celta’s field and the second goal was closer. It came in the final stages of the match after a long throw-in by Oblak that Jackson fought for and Carrasco captured the ball to make a great individual play and sentence the fixture.
