Singapore receives the Cup Champions
Local fans turned up to welcome Atletico players while their hosts greeted them with a typical dance that delighted the squad.
Singapore received the champions of the Copa del Rey. The expedition landed at Changi airport at five o'clock on Monday and they were welcomed with a traditional dance. Leading the team were Enrique Cerezo and Miguel Angel Gil Marin with the coaching staff led by Diego Pablo Simeone and 22 players. Óliver, Manquillo and Saul completed the squad which contained the entire first team except for Filipe Luis, who for personal reasons stayed in Madrid with permission of the club. The players enjoyed the reception had been prepared by their hosts and thanked them for the many details that had been prepared for their arrival.
The players posed for photographs with fans and signed autographs. The local fans wore red and white scarves and shirts and displayed a large banner remembered the recent success of the team in the final of the Copa del Rey last Friday. From the airport, the expedition headed to their hotel, the Conrad International, where they rested a few hours to acclimate to the time change and started preparing for the charity match with the Singapore Olympic Foundation that will take place against a combined local stars team on Wednesday.
