PREVIEW | MATCHDAY 30

The objective: win at the Sánchez-Pizjuán

Atlético de Madrid are back in LaLiga EA Sports action when they travel to the Sánchez-Pizjuán to take on Sevilla this Sunday (16:15 CEST kick-off).

We have nine games to go in LaLiga, nine games with which to attain the best possible league finish. Up first in the run-in, we travel to the Sánchez-Pizjuán, a ground that has not been hospitable to us in recent years, with only three wins in our last three visits (2-0 in 22/23, 5-2 in 17/18 and 3-0 in 15/16). Three draws (1-1 in 18/19 and 19/20 and 0-0 in 14/15) and four defeats – including a 1-0 loss last season – round out the recent record.

Atlético are on a three-game winless run in LaLiga, having drawn 1-1 with Espanyol and lost 4-2 to Barcelona and 2-1 to Getafe, though we won both of our two games before that (1-0 against Athletic Club and 3-0 against Valencia at the Mestalla).

Sevilla, on the other hand, go into it following an up-and-down period of results. In their last five games, they beat Real Sociedad in San Sebastián (1-0) but drew at home to Mallorca and away at Rayo (both 1-1) and lost to Athletic Club at the Pizjuán (1-0) and in the Seville derby away at Real Betis (2-1).

In the reverse fixture at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano earlier this season, Atleti claimed a stunning comeback victory. De Paul opened the scoring only for the guests to take the lead through Lukebakio and Isaac Romero before the break. Juanlu then added a third for Sevilla at the start of the season half. However, the Rojiblancos reacted magnificently, as Griezmann pulled one back, Lino equalised to make it 3-3, and then the French forward made it a brace and secured a late winner in the process.
