Our Champions League league phase opponents will be revealed this Thursday
The draw will take place in Monaco on Thursday, 27 August at 18:00 CEST.
The Champions League league phase draw will take place in Monaco this Thursday at 18:00 CEST, when we will find out our eight opponents.
The 36 participating clubs will be divided into four pots based on their coefficient, with Atleti in Pot 1. We will face two teams from each of the four pots, playing one home match and one away match against the two opponents drawn from each pot. We cannot play another Spanish club in the league phase and can play at most two teams from the same association.
The competition will follow the same format as last season. 36 teams will take part in the league phase, with each side playing eight matches against eight different opponents. Once the league phase is complete, the top eight teams will advance directly to the round of 16. The teams finishing between ninth and 24th will contest two-legged play-offs. Finally, those finishing between 25th and 36th will be eliminated from the competition.
