Oblak receives award for the best save in LaLiga 2024/25
Our goalkeeper won thanks to his stunning double stop against Real Sociedad at Anoeta.
Atleti goalkeeper Jan Oblak received the award for the best save in LaLiga at the 2025 Globe Soccer Awards ceremony in Dubai on Sunday, 28 December.
The Slovenian shot-stopper won the award thanks to a spectacular double stop against Real Sociedad at Anoeta on 6 October last year. In the twelfth minute of the encounter, he kept out Martín Zubimendi’s headed attempt from a corner, and then, he made a stunning last-ditch save to deny Aguerd from close range.
“The secret is training. I’m grateful to my teammates who have helped me,” Oblak said after picking up the award.
