Molina and Hermoso signed the victory in Vallecas
Two two-minute goals midway through the first half gave us the three points against Rayo, who pulled one back late in the game.
A valuable win this Sunday at Rayo Vallecano, who we defeated 1-2 in the match corresponding to the 28th LaLiga matchday.
After a very even start with no chances for either side, our team opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, through Nahuel Molina, who made his debut as an Atlético scorer. To make it 0-1, the Argentinian full-back masterfully finished off a counter-attack with a cross-shot at Dimitrievski's long post, who after less than three minutes had only just conceded Mario Hermoso's header from Carrasco's cross.
On returning from the changing rooms, our team continued to dominate the game, always coming dangerously close to the Rayista area and making their numerical superiority count from 62' after Lejeune's sending off. However, Iraola's side knew how to suffer in defence and in the final stretch even reduced the deficit thanks to a long-range shot from Fran García.
