Miguel San Román, red and white legend, passed away
Atlético’s legend has left us at the age of 77. He made his debut in the red and white goal in 1958, his lifelong club.
Miguel San Román Núñez was a unique character. He made his debut in Atlético de Madrid’s goal in 1958, his lifelong club. Because he was only loaned for two seasons, one in Rayo Vallecano (1959-60) and another in Murcia (1960-61).
His record includes a UEFA Cup, two Leagues and a Generalísimo Cup, but above all, his love for the red and white colours stood out.
The Board of Directors of the club, with Enrique Cerezo and Miguel Ángel Gil at the head, and the entire Atlético family share the grief of his family and friends and send them a warm hug. Rest in peace, Miguel.
