Miguel Ángel Gil elected as member of the ECA Executive Board
Our CEO has been elected as a member of the Executive Board at the 26th European Club Association General Assembly in Geneva.
Miguel Ángel Gil has been elected as a member of the European Club Association (ECA) Executive Board and will be the only representative of Spanish football in the body whose chairman is Nasser Al-Khelaifi. The announcement of the three new members of the Executive Board took place this morning in Geneva, where the 26th ECA General Assembly has been held since Monday. Alongside Miguel Ángel Gil, Tottenham Hotspur President Daniel Levy and Inter Milan CEO Alessandro Antonello have also been elected to the board.
During the General Assembly, which included welcome speeches by FIFA president Gianni Infantino, UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin and ECA chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi, several meetings and presentations were held to address priority issues for football of a competitive, financial and regulatory nature.
The ECA 2021 awards will bring to a close this 26th General Assembly. It was the first to feature in-person plenary sessions since September 2019, when the COVID-19 pandemic forced the previous meetings to be held virtually.
