Mario Suárez and Enrique Cerezo have appeared this morning in the VIP Lounge of the Vicente Calderón Stadium to say farewell to the player of Madrid. The event started with a video that looked back Mario Suárez’s stay in the club. The midfielder was accompanied by friends and family.

The event was opened by the Chairman, who began by saying "first, and from where we stand, I think that it is mandatory to send a big hug to the family and friends of Mario who accompany us today in this event. Mario, goodbyes are always sad and moreover after watching this video that sums up your stay in Atlético de Madrid. But today is also a day to be happy, you’re going to a great team and a great city."

Then came the turn of Mario Suárez, who started by "thanking the Chairman for his words. Today is a strange day for me. It is the first time that I am here without being an Atlético de Madrid player. Since it became official, I have received many messages from employees of the club, teammates, fans, friends and everyone, and that is why I did not want to miss the chance of saying goodbye."

The red and white hime-grown player went on to say that "I came here when I was nine, and I have been able to fulfil many of the dreams that I had, like playing in the first team, debuting in the Calderón, win titles, and also wear the shirt of the Spanish national team. I have fulfilled all the dreams I had, but now is the time to face new challenges."

Finally, Mario said "wherever I am, I will continue to be another Atlético de Madrid fan. And I want to thank the fans who have made me feel at home."
