Marcos Llorente: "I'm very happy to be here"

It was a very special day for the midfielder, who enjoyed his presentation with his family. Enrique Cerezo welcomed him during an event at the Wanda Metropolitano Auditorium.

Marcos Llorente was unveiled on Friday as a new Atlético de Madrid player, during an event that took place at the Wanda Metropolitano Auditorium.
The midfielder was accompanied by his family, Club President Enrique Cerezo, Sports Director Andrea Berta, Club Vice President Antonio Alonso, director Miguel Pérez and and Club legends Marcelino Pérez and Luis Leirós.

Enrique Cerezo welcomed Marcos Llorente to our club. Cerezo added that our new midfielder has a very bright future ahead of him.
"He is, without a doubt, an extraordinary player with a great present and a promising future," our President said. "A defensive midfielder with the ability to play also as a defender, emphasizing his ability to anticipate and intuition," Cerezo said.

Marcos Llorente was very excited about this new stage in his career.

“I want to thank Enrique, Miguel Ángel, Andrea Berta and the club for supporting me, for trusting me and letting me be part of this great project. I'm very happy and excited, I cannot wait to start this," the 24-year-old said.

His excellent work as both midfielder and defender features a notorious capacity to anticipate and an intuition to intercept his rivals’ passes. During the 2016-17 season, he became the player who made the most recoveries during the season.

His good performance has led him to become a regular in the U21 squad, with which he was runners-up in the UEFA European Under-21 Championship, where he played with his new teammate Saúl Ñíguez.

After answering the journalists' questions, Enrique Cerezo presented the Spanish midfielder with his new number 14 shirt. Marcos Llorente then posed with his new shirt alongside Enrique Cerezo.
