THE CAPTAIN OF ATLÉTICO DE KOLKATA WILL HAVE RECOVERED TO PLAY TOMORROW

Luis García: "Chennaiyin is a difficult team, but we will try to get a good result"

Luis García is eager to return to competing with Atlético de Kolkata. This Tuesday, November 4th, the team coached by Antonio López Habas and which is the leader of the Indian Super League with 11 points, will visit Chennaiyin FC, second, with 9 points. The Jawaharlal Nerhu Stadium, in Chennai, will be the setting of the new challenge for the Atléticos: stay unbeaten at the very top.

Luis García told the Atlético de Madrid website that "I have recovered. We have had a week without matches and that has helped me to have a better recovery." As to whether the team expected to lead the table with such a good start in the Super League, he said, "the truth is we knew very little about what to expect. Our objective was to go match-by-match, but we find ourselves just 2 weeks in with 5 matches and 11 points which makes us happy and eager to keep improving."

This is a week with two matches, this Tuesday against Chennaiyin FC and on Friday the 7th against FC Pune City. "The match against Chennai will be difficult, it is a team with very decisive players like Elano at the front or Mendy and Materazzi. The match against Pune at home will be different. Playing at our stadium is not easy for rival teams because we are the only ones with artificial turf and it is difficult to adjust with such little time to train on it," he said.

Luis García pointed out he is delighted with this new experience in India. He noted that, "the unity that exists in the changing room between foreign and Indian players is one of our strengths and is noticeable on the pitch. They have treated us like family since we arrived here and it is important for us to feel good being so far from our friends and family. The Club works day and night to make us feel more at home even though we are living in a hotel, and when we play, all of it shows."
