Koke: “We're very excited to be here, we're are going up against outstanding rivals”
The midfielder spoke to the media after arriving with the team in Dallas.
Following the team’s arrival in the United States, where we will play against Chivas, Real Madrid and MLS All-Stars, Koke Resurrección spoke to the media. He analyzed the match against the Mexican team and evaluated the first weeks of the red & white pre-season.
“We are building a team with new faces, people full of enthusiasm, and with the conviction to do things right. Little by little, we are all getting to know each other. Great players have arrived, and along the veterans who are already here since many years ago, we expect to form a great combination to perform a great season”.
“Chivas started their pre-season ahead of us. We come from two weeks of training plus a match in which we have all played 45 minutes each. This type of match has no favorites. It is a friendly game and we will try to perform the best way possible and play with passion and enthusiasm. It is going to be a complicated match. Chivas is an historical Mexican team, and despite they are not going through a good moment, great teams always end up showing their best version”. Koke followed up his statements after being questioned about the new Mexican colleague, Héctor Herrera: “I have seen him play in Porto and the Mexican national team. He is a humble person, with a great will to work and enthusiasm. He is an Atlético de Madrid football player, and it is certain that he will bring many positive things.”
Lastly, the number 6 explained: “These are preparation games to arrive in the best form possible to the main match, which is the first game of LaLiga against Getafe. We are going up against outstanding rivals. The idea is for everyone to play, and for everyone to catch the rhythm to arrive in the best shape possible. We are very excited to be here, and this shows that our club continues to grow not only in Spain, but also internationally.”
