Jan Oblak, Miguel Ángel Gil participate in main event of Play with Us project
Our goalkeeper, who is the initiative’s main ambassador, and our CEO supported the solidarity project in Ankaran, Slovenia to aid disadvantaged children through a draw for football-related products and experiences. Slovenian Red Cross collaborated with the project.
Jan Oblak and Miguel Ángel Gil on Thursday participated in the season’s main event of the Play with Us solidarity project in Ankaran, Slovenia. 580 kids representing more than 30,000 children of different schools participated in the event, which was held at the Red Cross facilities.
The Play with Us project is a solidarity initiative through which the most disadvantaged children receive help from other kids. All of them participate in a draw for football-related products and experiences. Jan Oblak is the project’s main ambassador, which last season was joined by Fernando Torres and Antoine Griezmann. All proceeds are channelled through Slovenian Red Cross, whose president hosted the event.
Thanks to the agreement reached in recent weeks, the Atlético de Madrid Foundation is to collaborate in the development the Play with Us program. The goal is to transfer to other countries this wave of solidarity that has the values of sport as the main axis of work.
