Home kit makes its debut in Madrid Derby
Our team wore the home kit for the upcoming season for the first time during the match against Real Madrid.
Atleti wore the new home kit for the first time during the International Champions Cup 7-3 win over Real Madrid.
The new shirt maintains our traditional Red & White stripes, which are also present on the sleeves. On the inside, we can find the year of our foundation – 1903 – and trident of Neptune, which symbolises our bond with the city of Madrid and the fountain in which we celebrate our titles. A Spanish flag, representing our country, is present on the back of the net of the shirt. The shorts are blue, whereas the socks are predominantly red with a small, blue line surrounding the calf muscle.
The kit pays tribute to our last decade and is inspired by the one with which we won the Europa League in Hamburg in 2010. That trophy kick-started one of our club’s most successful phases, and next season will be the tenth anniversary of our win. Since then, our men’s first team has won nine titles (one LaLiga, three Europa Leagues, one Copa del Rey, three UEFA Super Cups and one Spanish Super Cup) and our women’s side has won four trophies (three leagues and one cup).
