Historic Griezmann at the Benito Villamarín
A hard-fought victory for our team at the Benito Villamarín thanks to two goals from Griezmann, who is now the third highest scorer in Atleti's history.
The match at the Benito Villamarín was extremely close and evenly matched. Atlético de Madrid ended the month of October unbeaten in LaLiga thanks to the three points obtained against Betis. A double from Antoine Griezmann, the second highest scorer in the history of our club.
Despite the great effort made by both teams, neither of the two teams reached the rival area with danger and neither Rui Silva for Betis nor Oblak for our team, had to intervene in outstanding actions.
The second half started more electric. Faced with the possible orders from both coaches, Betis and Atlético opened up a lot more space in an attempt to be dangerous. A great victory in a field that is always difficult for our team and against a direct rival. With the three points, we have regained third place in LaLiga. The next game is in the Champions League, against Leverkusen in a decisive match.
