Griezmann's brace to beat Almería
A good game for our team, who won thanks to two goals from Griezmann. A result that fell short thanks to the large number of chances, two posts included. Sixth consecutive win in LaLiga.
A festive atmosphere in the red and white coliseum, with a dedicated crowd who wanted a sixth consecutive victory against an Almeria side who were obliged not to lose in order not to be relegated depending on the results of the day. And the truth is that the start could not have been better for our team. In the third minute, Griezmann gave a warning with a shot from outside the area that went just over the crossbar.
It was the prelude to the goal, which would come from the laboratory. A corner kick taken by Carrasco from the right side of our attack to the near post, Correa headed inside the six-yard box, where Griezmann, also with his head, sent the ball into the back of the net. The goal had to be celebrated twice because Díaz de Mera disallowed it for offside, although González González told the main referee from the VAR that there was no infringement and so the score was 2-1, the result that would take us to the break.
The match entered a phase in which Almeria wanted but Atleti did not let them reach Oblak's domain and our team did not have so many chances, although Llorente and Barrios tried from distance. In the end, a fair, well-deserved and short victory for Atlético, who now have their sixth consecutive win in LaLiga. On Sunday, the next match at Camp Nou against Barcelona.
