First pre-season test!
Simeone’s men will take on FC Porto at the Estádio do Dragão this Sunday, 3 August, with kick-off at 20:00 CEST (19:00 local time) in what will be our first preparation match of the summer.
Our Atleti continue their pre-season programme for the 2025/26 campaign. After beginning training on 21 July at Los Ángeles de San Rafael, Simeone’s side now face Porto in their first friendly of the summer.
The clash with the Portuguese club kicks off at 20:00 CEST (19:00 local time) this Sunday at the Estádio do Dragão, where both teams will pay a heartfelt tribute to the recently deceased Diogo Jota, who wore the shirts of both clubs.
This will be our first match of the new season with all of our new signings present, while for Porto it will be their second, after beating Twente 2-1 on 27 July thanks to goals from William Gomes and Samu Aghehowa.
A host of former players from both sides, including Paulo Futre and Radamel Falcao, will also be in attendance, watching on from the stands.
This fixture is also the first of two matches outside Spain before the start of LaLiga, with the next coming on Saturday, 9 August in the 2025 Sela Cup against Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
