First leg of the quarter-finals against Barcelona
This Wednesday at 21:00 CEST, the ball will start rolling at the Spotify Camp Nou, kicking off the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals against FC Barcelona.
The UEFA Champions League returns and in the quarter-finals we will face Barcelona Football Club. This Wednesday's match will be the first leg of the eliminatory round, which will begin at the Spotify Camp Nou and end next week at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.
Both teams come into the fixture having played against each other last weekend in LaLiga, where Flick's men won 2-1, mounting a comeback after Giuliano Simeone scored the opening goal. The second chapter of this trilogy of encounters takes us to Barcelona a month after we qualified for the Copa del Rey final at the very same venue.
This is not the first time we have faced Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. There are two previous occasions where we have played against each other at this stage of the competition. They occurred in the 2013/14 and 2015/16 seasons, and both times we managed to secure our tickets to the Champions League semi-finals.
