Barcelona, who sit just three points above Atlético in the table, beat Alavés 3-1 on Saturday, with a goal from Lamine Yamal and a brace from Dani Olmo.
In their most recent league meeting at the Camp Nou last season, Atlético came away with a 2-1 victory, overturning Pedri's early goal through strikes from De Paul and Sørloth, who scored the last-minute winner.
