Enrique Cerezo reached 700 matches as Atlético’s chairman

His first game as a red and white chairman was at Riazor against Deportivo de La Coruña on 1st June 2003.

This Saturday, Enrique Cerezo has reached 700 official matches as chairman of our club. On 28th May 2003, Jesús Gil left the presidency of the club and handed it to Enrique Cerezo. His first official match was just a few days later, specifically on 1st June 2003, at Riazor.

Enrique Cerezo is the third chairman with more games in the history of our club. Only Vicente Calderón, with 966 games, and Jesús Gil, with 754 surpass Enrique Cerezo. In these more than 13 years as chairman, Cerezo has won two Europa League (2010 and 2012), two European Super Cups (2010 and 2012), a King’s Cup (2013), a League (2014) and a Spanish Super Cup (2014).
