Diego Pablo Simeone reaches 150 European matches
Our head coach continues to add to his tally with the club in international competitions.
Diego Pablo Simeone reached a milestone this evening at Istanbul’s RAMS Park, bringing up 150 matches in charge of Atlético de Madrid across all European competitions. His European journey with our team began in a clash against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on 16 February 2012.
Since then, he has established himself as the coach with the most matches in Atlético de Madrid’s history and has lifted several European trophies: two UEFA Europa League titles (2011/12 and 2017/18) and two UEFA Super Cups (2012/13 and 2018/19). Moreover, since his arrival at the club, we have competed in European competitions in every season without fail.
