Courtois: "I hope to win and if we keep a clean sheet, even better"
Thibaut Courtois is optimistic about the King's Cup final. The Atletico goalkeeper says the team will use their weapons to win the title against Real Madrid.
Courtois said to the media that "looking at the budget and the players, Real Madrid are favourites, but as I know, in finals it is different and not always the favorite wins. We played a final against Chelsea, in which they were the clear favorites and we beat them 1-4. They are under more pressure."
The key will be to defend well and if we can make some chances for Falcao and Diego, we can win
The Belgian international made it clear that "it will be a final of small details. The finals or games against Barca or Madrid are won or lost on the fine details. Friday will be the same. The key will be to defend well, as we do in many games, and if we keep a clean sheet and we can make some chances for Falcao and Diego Costa, we can beat them."
What is important is to lift the Cup and Courtois does not care if the title comes from penalties. "I'd rather win and if you win with a clean sheet, even better. But in the end you can finish 0-0 and get to extra time and maybe penalties, or may be win 2-3 or something. I hope to win the final and if I finish with a clean sheet it will not be bad" he said.
Finally, it was put to him that it could go to penalties. He said that "we have not practiced penalties. But if we can win the final on penalties it will also be good."
